Borderline Interdisciplinary Project

New technologies, new media, new artistic forms
Bucharest, Romania

Period: 13-14 October 2017

With the aim to bring together the creativity of East and West, to intensify the dialogue and cultural exchange between the two systems, paradise is here realized in Bucharest the program entitled Borderline, in collaboration with the National University of Theatre and Film and the National University of Arts of Bucharest.

Borderline was a two-day program that presented interdisciplinary performances (installations, video projections, theater/dance) by internationally renowned artists.

The project aimed to create a cultural dialogue between countries and their artists and to examine how these types of hybrid performances transcend and simultaneously expand the boundaries of the arts. The artists and host companies use new technologies and/or new artistic forms as a dialectical means to redefine the role of the public, the place of art in public spaces, the limits of activism and artistic action. The two-day event was completed by a round table organized by the National University of Theatre and Film of Bucharest on the theme of performing arts and technology.
