“Hamlet Dinner” is many things. It is a Shakespeare classic. A theatrical performance. A culinary masterpiece. And a family reunion. Kami Wilhelmina Manns brings the Shakespearean masterpiece to the stage in a highly entertaining and participatory way. The audience is involved in a family-like closeness. Everyone, actors and spectators, sit at the same table and dine together. The story takes place at the table, but also behind, in front of, above and under the table. In the words of the director, “We gather, dine, drink, act, and live ‘Hamlet’ together.” The evening’s menu is prepared by Adrian Bührer, a chef who with his team in 2016 was awarded a Michelin star and 16 Gault Millau points.
